CREATING The BRAND: MOSAIC & MEDLEY
When Mosaic & Medley, a Reiki healing business opening in Lincoln, NE in 2025, needed a cohesive and compelling brand identity, I stepped in to make their vision a reality. As the designer, I tackled the challenge of creating a unified and visually appealing brand. From designing the logo and developing a comprehensive brand guide with colors and fonts to crafting business cards, appointment reminder cards, and social media profile pictures and banners, I ensured that every element worked together to reflect the serene and harmonious nature of their practice.
Logo VARIATION
To ensure Mosaic & Medley had versatile logos for any scenario, I tackled the challenge of creating multiple logo variations. I developed a full logo, a vertical logo, a horizontal logo, a wordmark, and an icon. Each variation was designed in multiple colorways to align with the brand's colors. By working through many renditions, I was able to refine and perfect these designs, providing a flexible and cohesive visual identity for the brand. The logo itself reflects the owner's dedication to helping young mothers through their struggles, featuring a mother holding an infant child while sitting on a moon, looking off into the distance. This image encapsulates the nurturing and supportive spirit of Mosaic & Medley.
Colors
To create a cohesive and visually appealing brand for Mosaic & Medley, I selected a harmonious color palette. The colors were carefully chosen to evoke a sense of tranquility, balance, and wellness, which are central to the Reiki healing experience. The palette includes a mix of soft and bold hues, ensuring versatility and consistency across all brand materials. This thoughtful selection of colors helps reinforce the brand’s identity and creates a strong visual impact.
Typography
To ensure consistency and readability across all brand materials for Mosaic & Medley, I selected two complementary fonts. For the heading text, I chose the elegant and flowing "Healing" font, which beautifully captures the essence of the Reiki practice. For the body copy, I opted for "Raleway," a clean and modern font that ensures clarity and ease of reading. Together, these fonts create a harmonious and professional look that enhances the overall brand identity.
Social Media Assets
For Mosaic & Medley's social media presence, I created profile pictures and banners tailored to the specific requirements of the platforms the owner is active on, including Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok. Each design was crafted to be the appropriate size for its respective platform, ensuring a seamless and professional appearance online. By aligning the social media visuals with the brand’s identity, I aimed to enhance the business's online professionalism and make a positive impression on potential clients.
STYLE GUIDE
To ensure that Mosaic & Medley has a consistent and professional brand presence moving forward, I compiled all these elements into a comprehensive style guide. This guide includes the logos, color palette, fonts, and social media assets, providing clear instructions on how to use each component. With this style guide, the owner can effortlessly create future documents and maintain a cohesive and polished brand identity.
Business Cards
For Mosaic & Medley’s business cards, I designed a sleek and professional layout that embodies the brand’s identity.
